★ Character Information ★
Character Name: Ezra Bridger
Character Age: 20
Character Species: Human – or near Human. The blue-black of his hair and violet blue eyes may hint at non human ancestry somewhere in the mix. Aside from those phenotype quirks however, effectively human.
Current Health: Alive, over all good health, aside from light facial scarring from a lightsaber
Outfit: Jedi robes along these lines. Burn orange tabards, slightly contrasting shade of indigo tunic and undertunic, tan pants, brown boots. Over all that is a grayish-brown cloak. The belt has some clips to hold things and small pockets. Green gloves that he wears pretty much all the time.
Character Canon: Star Wars: Rebels
Link to History: wiki link
Canon Point: immediately post-Rebels finale + CRAU
Canon Iteration: CRAU from The Revival Project and Deer Country
Canon Iteration Explanation: Ezra has a little over two years of post-canon experiences across two games. In TRP, he picked up skills in agriculture and experience with (psychic) newborns. He also got to spend significant time around more Jedi - primarily Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cal Kestis, Grogu, and Luke Skywalker. Also, all the inhabitants of Temba were sent on a month long ‘mission’ to Coruscant, some 900ish years before Ezra was born. Ezra got to see the Jedi Temple there, how Jedi in that era lived and studied. He came away with a new lightsaber, study materials on holocrons, some crash course training in a few more Force skills, and semi-formal acknowledgment of his continued apprenticeship under Obi-Wan – as well as lot of perspective about how much has been lost in the Jedi Purges in his own time.
Another event with long term impact was a memory altering bubble reality created by Billy Kaplan. Ezra gained a hazy set of memories of a lifetime as an ordinary American school kid. The version of Obi-wan that fit into that reality was a much older brother who raised him. After the bubble reality was ended, they agreed to keep considering each other as chosen brothers.
Ezra’s next tenure, in Trench, was a rough go, in many ways. There were versions of people he come to care for deeply, that he had to form whole new relationships with. He had to deal with versions of people who, in Ezra’s past, had abused him and tried to kill him, and yet, these versions had not yet done those things. He wrestled with his nature as a Sleeper, and came to conclusion it was extremely unlikely he’d ever return to his home galaxy. That, in turn, made him question his identity as a Jedi. He experienced death and an extended ghost-hood, after defending his neighbors from another Sleeper.
Eventually Ezra set out to write an own oath to clarify what being a Jedi of Trench meant to him. At about the point he was considering asking friends and family to witness an oathtaking, his dead master, Kanan Jarrus, paid a brief visit to Trench. They held a ceremony for Ezra's Knighting, albiet loosely modeled on traditions under the Order.
Ezra is a young adult coming into his own, more grounded and centered now, in important ways, but tired and worn, in others.

★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★
Skills: moderate levels of mechanics/scavenging, lockpicking, pickpocketing, stealth and uncover missions, tactics, guerrilla warfare, competent star-figher pilot, multiple weapons proficiencies including blasters, lightsaber forms, and some training in ‘traditional’ swordfighting, general 21st century high school education, child care, subsistence level agriculture, decent cook, first aid/physician’s assistant level medicine, meditation, listening to others, teaching from his skill sets
Canon Abilities: Ezra is a Jedi who has years of training in his Force abilities.
Empathy/Telepathy - Ezra's strongest talents as a Jedi are his ability to detect, connect with, and influence minds, both humanoid and animal. He's proficient with the Jedi Mind Trick and while he was dabbling with the Dark Side he was able to outright control enemy soldiers. In Trench, Ezra learned to sooth emotions, as a way to combat corruption.
Visions/Clairvoyance - Ezra has a numbers of visions across his canon, of events of the near future or taking place far away. They can be detailed, or give some indication of a variety of potential path/outcomes, but they are rarely straightforward. (Mod and player plot hooks with this ability are pretty much always welcome!)
Telekinesis - Like most Jedi, Ezra can use his connection to the Force to move objects with touching them.
Force healing/plant growth - putting these two in the same category because I see both as part of the ability to manipulate the energy of the Living Force. This is a skill he picked up at the Jedi Temple, and has put a lot of time since into practicing. Even so Ezra lacks the raw power to be a true miracle worker with these (as Rey and Grogu pull off, in canon). He can mostly bolster natural processes and speed them up a little. Perhaps he could eek out a little more utility with longer term study of biology and medicine.
Enhanced physical attributes: While he is able to channel the Force, Ezra can boost his strength, speed, agility, and endurance to well beyond human norm.
Dreamwalking: In Trench, Ezra gained dreamwalking as an incidental talent he never learned to fully control. I think it’s a logical extension of talents in visions and telepathy, and I would like to keep as a possibly occasional thing he stumbles into. He would need to do further practice/study for it to be something he can do intentionally.
A note: Ezra’s Sleeper nature in Trench was Paleblood. ICly he embraced that as part of himself, but his Paleblood abilities were generally played as complimenting and mirroring his canon abilities. His mental vs more physical abilities would wax and wane in varying strength with the phases of the Moon Presence (such a barely being able to use telekinesis or being overwhelmed by background ‘noise’).
That said, I would like Ezra to shed his Sleeperhood entirely. I think it just fits better for him to embrace his new Star Child nature. He would lose his Omen of course - that part of his soul is simply re-expressed in being able to actually transform into a Loth cat. His abilities would stabilize to more canon levels, or at least become attuned to Folkmore.
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: Ezra will, at least initially, be in a fully human looking form most of the time, with a primary animal form of black Loth Wolf (representing a steady, strong, pack/community oriented presence ) and secondary form of white Loth Cat (representing his more playful, sneaky, and freewheeling side). Other forms may pop up if they are thematically appropriate, as well as him possibly taking on more permanent animal traits.
Loth wolves and loth cats do seem to be canonically especially attuned to the Force, although not in the way a Jedi would be. I don’t want to cheese and give him his Jedi abilities in animal form, but being entirely Force blind for long would be deeply uncomfortable to him. I think it’s reasonable to be along the lines of - in those forms, he can feel his connection, it’s there, and maybe Jedi and other psychics can communicate with him more easily than others, when he’s in these forms.
Lothwolves also have an ability that seems to be using their Force affinity to step through hyperspace, effectively teleporting. Access to this ability in wolf form is tenatively a long term goal.
Role Reasoning: Ezra does have a pretty well developed morality – in simplified D&D terms he probably lands on Neutral Good. However, that morality has always been strongly rooted in his connections with other people and his community. He can come off as very morally flexible, because he mostly doesn’t seem to mind other people’s flexibility (as long as they are not outright malicious and cruel). Also, he is constantly doing risk assessment, and that may come across as opportunistic or ruthless.
At this point, he would be willing to extend a hand to even his worst enemies, if he thought it could inspire them to be better versions of themselves. Of course maybe he has lot more to learn about what that could *mean*.
★ Personality ★
Option 2.
Ezra’s relationship to meditation – that he generally values meditation, enjoys it most of the time, and is not ‘bad’ at it (that he hates it, can’t sit still, and thinks he’s bad at it seem to be fairly common fanons!) The junior novelization of the Rebels pilot, showing his internal narrative, has him explicitly doing the basics of meditation, before he even has a word for it, or for the Force. Alone in an cell – “He cleared his mind, focused on his breath. That always helped him relax.” He goes on to visualize a kind of flowers grows in the grassland of Lothal opening, because that also calms him down. This narrative explains how he opens a Jedi artifact without a lick of training.
Certainly he’s learned more since then, and has probably had times he struggled with meditating, but he is shown multiple times meditating with Kanan and closing his eyes to center himself. He's never dismissive of the practice, 'on screen'.
I think this headcanon fit him well. Across canon we see other young Jedi picking up skills like telekenesis more quickly than he does, winning lightsaber duels more definitively. His strengths lie more in his self-knowledge and connections to the world around him.
It is probably best summarized by the vows he wrote as part of his Knighting arc in Deer Country:
I, Ezra Bridger, Jedi Knight, vow to use all my skill and abilities to serve others rather than ruling over them.
To not seek personal power, but knowledge and enlightenment,
To act not out of aggression, but to defend and to protect,
To preserve what grows and lives well in its own way,
To support betterment and ease pain,
To guard justice and peace,
To put ever aside fear for courage, hatred for compassion,
And when it is fitting to do so, death for life
— looking always towards the Force, in which all are one,
Until my final death, or I return to the sea.
Ezra has few illusions about ‘goodness’ insuring good results or some sort of victory over evil. In the Rebels comics he outright says that even if he becomes a Jedi that doesn’t necessarily mean the galaxy will be better. Rather, he believes hope, compassion, and kindness are some of the few things that have even a chance of making anything better. And is the only way he’s found to be happy about living in his own skin.
Karma – Ok, partly this is a joke in that I play Ezra as loosely space!Buddhist. More seriously, it communicates things Ezra actually believes, like if you’re too trapped in your own mind games and self centered, you miss out on the good things in life. And sometimes, he’s a just tiny bit snarky in the vein of this song.
Change – Hey, it’s a song explicitly about revolution, and Ezra’s a revolutionary against the Empire who put out a call for people to stand up together.
Dear Reader – this one is less about Ezra per se, and more about the despair and self doubt sees sometimes in a lot of the adults in his life, mired in survivor’s guilt and wondering what they might could have done to prevent the Empire and massacre of the Jedi. (Neat coincidence – Obi-Wan’s call sign is canonically ‘Guiding Light’). Their pain breaks his heart, and can drag him down into his own self-doubt if he lets it.
Canonically, the Imperial Officer Kallus, who spent years hunt Ezra, eventually became a double agent for the Rebellion. It’s Ezra who risks his life to try to extract Kallus, once it looks like Kallus’s cover is at risk being blown. He also chooses to trust Kallus and let him stay undercover, when Kallus manages to pin intelligence leaks onto someone else. This seems like pretty strong evidence Ezra is willing to forgive people who have wronged him pretty personally.
In the more abstract, Ezra believes absolutely anyone can change, and choose to do better. But he’s also willing to concede some people will simply never choose better.
So, Ezra can forgive pretty much anything, but he’s pretty unlikely to, until he’s see some sign of remorse and intention to better. Even when he sees that he’s not likely to forget.
