Folkmore Opt In/Opt out
Jul. 7th, 2023 10:50 pmA general post for Folkmore to discuss OOCly how Ezra's powers in the Force can interact with other characters, particularly his knack for empathy/telepathy. Feel free to drop me note if you don't want him to pick up things from yours, in general, or to leave me a quick summary of the general feel he might get from someone, or whatever else you think is relevant! Also feel free to drop any general opt outs.

Character Name: Ezra Bridger
Character Age: 20
Character Species: Human – or near Human. The blue-black of his hair and violet blue eyes may hint at non human ancestry somewhere in the mix. Aside from those phenotype quirks however, effectively human.
Current Health: Alive, over all good health, aside from light facial scarring from a lightsaber
Outfit: Jedi robes along these lines. Burn orange tabards, slightly contrasting shade of indigo tunic and undertunic, tan pants, brown boots. Over all that is a grayish-brown cloak. The belt has some clips to hold things and small pockets. Green gloves that he wears pretty much all the time.
Character Canon: Star Wars: Rebels
Link to History: wiki link
Canon Point: immediately post-Rebels finale + CRAU
Canon Iteration: CRAU from The Revival Project and Deer Country
Canon Iteration Explanation: Ezra has a little over two years of post-canon experiences across two games. In TRP, he picked up skills in agriculture and experience with (psychic) newborns. He also got to spend significant time around more Jedi - primarily Obi-Wan Kenobi, Cal Kestis, Grogu, and Luke Skywalker. Also, all the inhabitants of Temba were sent on a month long ‘mission’ to Coruscant, some 900ish years before Ezra was born. Ezra got to see the Jedi Temple there, how Jedi in that era lived and studied. He came away with a new lightsaber, study materials on holocrons, some crash course training in a few more Force skills, and semi-formal acknowledgment of his continued apprenticeship under Obi-Wan – as well as lot of perspective about how much has been lost in the Jedi Purges in his own time.
Another event with long term impact was a memory altering bubble reality created by Billy Kaplan. Ezra gained a hazy set of memories of a lifetime as an ordinary American school kid. The version of Obi-wan that fit into that reality was a much older brother who raised him. After the bubble reality was ended, they agreed to keep considering each other as chosen brothers.
Ezra’s next tenure, in Trench, was a rough go, in many ways. There were versions of people he come to care for deeply, that he had to form whole new relationships with. He had to deal with versions of people who, in Ezra’s past, had abused him and tried to kill him, and yet, these versions had not yet done those things. He wrestled with his nature as a Sleeper, and came to conclusion it was extremely unlikely he’d ever return to his home galaxy. That, in turn, made him question his identity as a Jedi. He experienced death and an extended ghost-hood, after defending his neighbors from another Sleeper.
Eventually Ezra set out to write an own oath to clarify what being a Jedi of Trench meant to him. At about the point he was considering asking friends and family to witness an oathtaking, his dead master, Kanan Jarrus, paid a brief visit to Trench. They held a ceremony for Ezra's Knighting, albiet loosely modeled on traditions under the Order.
Ezra is a young adult coming into his own, more grounded and centered now, in important ways, but tired and worn, in others.

★ Folkmore Roles & Attributes ★
Skills: moderate levels of mechanics/scavenging, lockpicking, pickpocketing, stealth and uncover missions, tactics, guerrilla warfare, competent star-figher pilot, multiple weapons proficiencies including blasters, lightsaber forms, and some training in ‘traditional’ swordfighting, general 21st century high school education, child care, subsistence level agriculture, decent cook, first aid/physician’s assistant level medicine, meditation, listening to others, teaching from his skill sets
Canon Abilities: Ezra is a Jedi who has years of training in his Force abilities.
Empathy/Telepathy - Ezra's strongest talents as a Jedi are his ability to detect, connect with, and influence minds, both humanoid and animal. He's proficient with the Jedi Mind Trick and while he was dabbling with the Dark Side he was able to outright control enemy soldiers. In Trench, Ezra learned to sooth emotions, as a way to combat corruption.
Visions/Clairvoyance - Ezra has a numbers of visions across his canon, of events of the near future or taking place far away. They can be detailed, or give some indication of a variety of potential path/outcomes, but they are rarely straightforward. (Mod and player plot hooks with this ability are pretty much always welcome!)
Telekinesis - Like most Jedi, Ezra can use his connection to the Force to move objects with touching them.
Force healing/plant growth - putting these two in the same category because I see both as part of the ability to manipulate the energy of the Living Force. This is a skill he picked up at the Jedi Temple, and has put a lot of time since into practicing. Even so Ezra lacks the raw power to be a true miracle worker with these (as Rey and Grogu pull off, in canon). He can mostly bolster natural processes and speed them up a little. Perhaps he could eek out a little more utility with longer term study of biology and medicine.
Enhanced physical attributes: While he is able to channel the Force, Ezra can boost his strength, speed, agility, and endurance to well beyond human norm.
Dreamwalking: In Trench, Ezra gained dreamwalking as an incidental talent he never learned to fully control. I think it’s a logical extension of talents in visions and telepathy, and I would like to keep as a possibly occasional thing he stumbles into. He would need to do further practice/study for it to be something he can do intentionally.
A note: Ezra’s Sleeper nature in Trench was Paleblood. ICly he embraced that as part of himself, but his Paleblood abilities were generally played as complimenting and mirroring his canon abilities. His mental vs more physical abilities would wax and wane in varying strength with the phases of the Moon Presence (such a barely being able to use telekinesis or being overwhelmed by background ‘noise’).
That said, I would like Ezra to shed his Sleeperhood entirely. I think it just fits better for him to embrace his new Star Child nature. He would lose his Omen of course - that part of his soul is simply re-expressed in being able to actually transform into a Loth cat. His abilities would stabilize to more canon levels, or at least become attuned to Folkmore.
Role: Familiar
Role Qualities/Attributes: Ezra will, at least initially, be in a fully human looking form most of the time, with a primary animal form of black Loth Wolf (representing a steady, strong, pack/community oriented presence ) and secondary form of white Loth Cat (representing his more playful, sneaky, and freewheeling side). Other forms may pop up if they are thematically appropriate, as well as him possibly taking on more permanent animal traits.
Loth wolves and loth cats do seem to be canonically especially attuned to the Force, although not in the way a Jedi would be. I don’t want to cheese and give him his Jedi abilities in animal form, but being entirely Force blind for long would be deeply uncomfortable to him. I think it’s reasonable to be along the lines of - in those forms, he can feel his connection, it’s there, and maybe Jedi and other psychics can communicate with him more easily than others, when he’s in these forms.
Lothwolves also have an ability that seems to be using their Force affinity to step through hyperspace, effectively teleporting. Access to this ability in wolf form is tenatively a long term goal.
Role Reasoning: Ezra does have a pretty well developed morality – in simplified D&D terms he probably lands on Neutral Good. However, that morality has always been strongly rooted in his connections with other people and his community. He can come off as very morally flexible, because he mostly doesn’t seem to mind other people’s flexibility (as long as they are not outright malicious and cruel). Also, he is constantly doing risk assessment, and that may come across as opportunistic or ruthless.
At this point, he would be willing to extend a hand to even his worst enemies, if he thought it could inspire them to be better versions of themselves. Of course maybe he has lot more to learn about what that could *mean*.
★ Personality ★
Option 2.
Ezra’s relationship to meditation – that he generally values meditation, enjoys it most of the time, and is not ‘bad’ at it (that he hates it, can’t sit still, and thinks he’s bad at it seem to be fairly common fanons!) The junior novelization of the Rebels pilot, showing his internal narrative, has him explicitly doing the basics of meditation, before he even has a word for it, or for the Force. Alone in an cell – “He cleared his mind, focused on his breath. That always helped him relax.” He goes on to visualize a kind of flowers grows in the grassland of Lothal opening, because that also calms him down. This narrative explains how he opens a Jedi artifact without a lick of training.
Certainly he’s learned more since then, and has probably had times he struggled with meditating, but he is shown multiple times meditating with Kanan and closing his eyes to center himself. He's never dismissive of the practice, 'on screen'.
I think this headcanon fit him well. Across canon we see other young Jedi picking up skills like telekenesis more quickly than he does, winning lightsaber duels more definitively. His strengths lie more in his self-knowledge and connections to the world around him.
It is probably best summarized by the vows he wrote as part of his Knighting arc in Deer Country:
I, Ezra Bridger, Jedi Knight, vow to use all my skill and abilities to serve others rather than ruling over them.
To not seek personal power, but knowledge and enlightenment,
To act not out of aggression, but to defend and to protect,
To preserve what grows and lives well in its own way,
To support betterment and ease pain,
To guard justice and peace,
To put ever aside fear for courage, hatred for compassion,
And when it is fitting to do so, death for life
— looking always towards the Force, in which all are one,
Until my final death, or I return to the sea.
Ezra has few illusions about ‘goodness’ insuring good results or some sort of victory over evil. In the Rebels comics he outright says that even if he becomes a Jedi that doesn’t necessarily mean the galaxy will be better. Rather, he believes hope, compassion, and kindness are some of the few things that have even a chance of making anything better. And is the only way he’s found to be happy about living in his own skin.
Karma – Ok, partly this is a joke in that I play Ezra as loosely space!Buddhist. More seriously, it communicates things Ezra actually believes, like if you’re too trapped in your own mind games and self centered, you miss out on the good things in life. And sometimes, he’s a just tiny bit snarky in the vein of this song.
Change – Hey, it’s a song explicitly about revolution, and Ezra’s a revolutionary against the Empire who put out a call for people to stand up together.
Dear Reader – this one is less about Ezra per se, and more about the despair and self doubt sees sometimes in a lot of the adults in his life, mired in survivor’s guilt and wondering what they might could have done to prevent the Empire and massacre of the Jedi. (Neat coincidence – Obi-Wan’s call sign is canonically ‘Guiding Light’). Their pain breaks his heart, and can drag him down into his own self-doubt if he lets it.
Canonically, the Imperial Officer Kallus, who spent years hunt Ezra, eventually became a double agent for the Rebellion. It’s Ezra who risks his life to try to extract Kallus, once it looks like Kallus’s cover is at risk being blown. He also chooses to trust Kallus and let him stay undercover, when Kallus manages to pin intelligence leaks onto someone else. This seems like pretty strong evidence Ezra is willing to forgive people who have wronged him pretty personally.
In the more abstract, Ezra believes absolutely anyone can change, and choose to do better. But he’s also willing to concede some people will simply never choose better.
So, Ezra can forgive pretty much anything, but he’s pretty unlikely to, until he’s see some sign of remorse and intention to better. Even when he sees that he’s not likely to forget.

Backtagging: Generally yes! I may struggle to feel like a thread fits into continuity after a couple of months, and ask for a handwave, tho. I always appreciate being able to figure out what note a scene ended on, or what the main takeaway is.
Fourth walling: If your character gushes about Star Wars media, and calls it such, I'll probably struggle to know what to do with it. ICly, this version of Ezra know there are stories about Jedi and Sith in other realities (and the Skywalkers specifically). He has his own thoughts on the matter. Passing references are fine.
Thread hopping : Network stuff, public threads are always game. I'd like to discuss for log thread hopping.
Content warnings and sensitive subjects: Not a lot. I'm not great with graphic descriptions of gore, or of spiders. Please no pictures of them, either.
Anything else: I try to read over tags a couple of times before I post, but ADHD fueled typing errors are a thing, especially dropped words. Apologies in advance for edits and never feel like you can't *ask* me to edit
★ In Character Permissions ★
Physical affection: He loves it, go for it.
Romance: He's a little cautious about getting into that sort of relationship, for a few reasons, but he'd been willing to at least talk about it. OOCly, I'm open to possibilities.
Violence: Not a no, but I prefer lots of communication as we're writing. Ezra will generally try to deescalate.
Injuries : For minor things, same as general violence. Nothing permanent enough to be life altering, at this time, thank you.
Death: Not a hard no, but not something I want to do for laughs. We can talk about it.
Telepathy and mind-reading: Ezra is pretty empathic and a little telepathic. I'm always down for consensual psychic communication. Forcing something into his mind, or mind control, he'd be particularly resistant to, and is definitely something we should discuss before I sign off
Content warnings and sensitive subjects related to the character: his canon involves genocide, fascism, child abandonment, teenage soldiers, a little bit of child manipulation/emotional abuse, and mind control
Content warnings and sensitive subjects this character won't be involved in: I can't think of much? He's defensive of the Jedi, and anyone ICly implying found/adopted family isn't real family will get the cold shoulder from him real quick. I'm not opposed to some philosophical debate, and ICly tensions on these topics, but there's a level of unbending negativity or constant devil's advocating that will get not fun for me. I'll try to gently communicate if something is approaching that line.

PHYSICAL AFFECTION: Generally loves it! Go for it.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE: Fighting, maiming, and even killing, are in theory on the table. However, OOC communication of the particulars are always good. Please do not kill without some out of character discussion.
ROMANCE/FLIRTING: In theory, fine! In practice, Ezra has basically zero experience with these things and isn't sure he's interested. Both of those have little to do with being a Jedi, and more has to do with lack of feeling a need for romance, and being busy. Any relationship along those lines will probably be an organic slow burn with some clueless stumbling around.
SEXUAL CONTENT: Ezra is extremely unlikely to be interested in sex without a strong emotional component, so again, slow burn at best, if at all. Even if it comes up, my interest in writing things out is variable. Fade to black is likely.
PSYCHIC ABILITIES: Yes please! Ezra's Force abilities tilts more towards empathic and telepathic abilities in canon and I love playing with that. Empathic projection/non-intrusive telepathy is always welcome. Discussion of anything that would make him hallucinate or control his actions, please reach out to discuss. I also welcome plots that whomp him with visions.
MAGIC/POWERS: It makes sense for Ezra Force powers to possibly give him some resistance to certain kinds of magic, and none at all, to others. Reaching out for discussion is strongly encouraged.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: Ezra has two scars on his right cheek from lightsaber burn. In general, he's in pretty good health for a teenager, although I head canon that his relatively short stature is partly from childhood malnutrition, and that he often subconsciously augments less than great natural stamina with the Force.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS OR TRIGGERS: Slavery, imperialism, deliberate neglect of children, any implication that genocide is ever in any way deserved

BACKTAGGING: Backtag away! I'll try to let you know if I've gotten stuck on a thread or need to drop something because I've gotten overwhelmed.
FOURTH WALLING: I can probably deal with some vague references to Star Wars media, but please don't corner my character with detailed run downs. I'll freeze trying to figure out what to do with it.
THREADHOPPING: Generally fine! Head ups appreciated.
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR, BUT CAN STILL PLAY: Eye gore, explicit torture, explicit suicide, cannibalism. I can deal with mentions of spiders but not pictures of real/realistic ones, or tons of description.
CONTENT I ABSOLUTELY NEED WARNINGS FOR AND THAT I CAN'T PLAY: Dental horror, feces
ANYTHING ELSE: ETA: I'm a touch dyslexic and have ADHD which results in being pretty typo prone, including things like dropped words or not typing the word I was actually thinking. (Especially when I'm excited to play and typing quickly.) Sorry! I try to proof before I post, but if a tag is ever confusing or you just want an error fixed, please just give me a private ping somewhere and I'll fix it.

Character Background
• History: wiki link
• Core Relationships:
Ephraim and Mira Bridger: Birth parents, arrested and imprisoned when Ezra was 7. Ezra never saw them again (aside from Force visions) but they taught him about standing up in solidarity. ( both deceased)
Kanan Jarrus: Master, teacher, adoptive father in all but name. Kanan taught Ezra about how to wield a lightsaber of course, but was always skeptical Jedi acting as soldiers. He placed emphasis on the Force as a connecting energy, that a Jedi should use to bring balance and facilitate peace, not use merely as a weapon. (deceased)
Hera Syndulla: Captain of the Ghost, which was home to Ezra and the rest of the Scepters when in missions, and eventually a general in the Alliance. Adoptive mother in all but name. She taught him to always hold onto hope. More practically, she taught him to fly space freighters and star fighters.
Sabine Wren: Mandolarian, artist, and demolition expert. Brief teenage crush, but now Ezra sees her as basically his foster sister. Ezra also helped teach her to wield a Mandolarian artifact called the Darksaber, and went with her when he returned to her homeworld to confront her birth family, who had effectively exiled her for opposing the Empire. He joined her fight to kick the Imperial governor out of her home system. She later returned the favor to help end the Imperial blockade of his own homeworld of Lothal.
The one he says he trusts to always have his back
.
Zeb Orrelios: Roomate, comrade in arms, and adopted big brother of sorts. Their relationship started off adversarial - Zeb regarded Ezra as a whiny teenager who wasn't much of fighter, and a little overall useless. Ezra likewise did not seem impressed by Zeb. However, over time their sniping at each other settled into teasing and moments of quiet companionship. Notably, Zeb's people have a local Force religion, which might explain why when Ezra does things like talk to wolves and space whales, Zeb is more accepting of that sort of wierdness than some of their other associates.
Ahsoka Tano: Another of his teachers in the ways of the Force, even though she says she's not a Jedi anymore. Ahsoka is indulgent of some of Ezra's more child-like moments, perhaps because she herself had to grow up too fast as a teenager fighting in the Clone Wars. Ezra certainly seems to soak up those bits of open affection. She’s saved his life a bunch of times, on dangerous missions. One time, he managed to save hers.
It's Ahsoka who talks Ezra through accepting Kanan's death rather than using part of the Jedi temple on Lothal to change the past.
Rex: The clone commander who taught Ezra about being a soldier. There's some open tug of war at points, between Kanan and Rex on where Ezra's focus should be in training. Rex emphasizes combat as part of a unit. Kanan doesn't like to think of Jedi as soldiers, even when they use a lightsaber. Both agree that at times Ezra lacks discipline - a criticism that can still make Ezra doubt himself. Ezra regards Rex as extended family. He and two of his clone brothers volunteer to go with Ezra to help free Lothal, citing that it's good to fight alongside Jedi again.
• Summary of CRAU Impact:
The Revival Project is a game set on planet, called Agra-10, where aliens called Agrii were using people to try and rebuild their society. Ocassionally the Agrii also send people on offworld missions via assigned ships.
As part of the rebuilding effort Ezra picked up some handy skills with gardening, animal caretaking, and spinning wool. On top of that Ezra added to his training in the Force alongside the other Jedi on Agra. He also spent a month on Coruscant (albeit about 900 years before his canon), when the Agri sent everyone on Agra-10 there. Ezra spent a lot of that month at the Jedi Temple, gaining a new lightsaber crystal, a set of traditional Jedi robes, some holocrons with a selection of works from the Jedi archivse, and a little better understanding of the Order as a community and culture. He also got very a crash course on using the Force to heal and support the growth of living things. That latter skill helped him with his efforts in agriculture.
The community at Agra-10 was pretty small, and Ezra put effort into trying to get to know as many people as he could. Some key relationship from The Revival Project that are most likely to continue to impact him are -
Obi-wan Kenobi: Ezra met Obi-wan Kenobi first in his canon. The Agra-10 version was much younger, from not long after the fall of the Jedi Order and rise of the Empire. Despite his grief and doubts, Obi-wan was willing to take Ezra and the other young Jedi who arrived at Temba on as students. Ezra threw himself into finishing his training as a padawan. He came to regard Obi-wan as close chosen family and his second master.
During a period of time in a memory altering bubble reality created by Billy Kaplan, he gained a hazy set of memories of a lifetime as an ordinary American school kid. The version of Obi-wan that fit into that reality was a much older brother who raised him. After the bubble reality was ended, they agreed to keep considering each other as chosen brothers.
Padme Amidala (and infant Skywalkers): While on the Agrii sent mission to Coruscant, Ezra met Padme on their mutually assigned ship - very pregnant and very upset, since she’d been fleeing the rise of the Empire and trying to find her husband.
Padme safely gave birth to her babies at the Jedi Temple on Coruscant, and named them Luke and Leia. Ezra was generally concerned for the new mother and her babies, and he also knew Obi-wan considered her a close friend, so Ezra immediately stepped up to help as much as he could. Ezra was later told by Obi-wan in confidence that the twins’ father was Anakin Skywalker, Obi-wan’s former padawan. Padme avoided talking much about Anakin, but Ezra came to privately regard her as family as well, since Obi-wan had been helping raise the twins, and Anakin could be considered Ezra’s absent padawan-brother through their relationship to Obi-wan, anyway.
Luke Skywalker (post-ROTJ): And then, when twins were several months old, Knight Luke Skywalker arrived on Agra-10. Ezra liked this grown up Luke a lot, but was also a little intimated by his raw power in the Force, and skill with a lightsaber. And then there’s the whole thing where back home, they should be the same age, on top of Ezra's having babysat the infant version of Luke.
He and Luke had a lot of long talks about growing up as orphans on the Outer Rim, about the similarities and differences in their training as Jedi, and about the Sith and the Empire. And about Vader - where Vader and Anakin Skywalker begins and ends.
Kyle Broflovski: One of the more solid friendships Ezra made with people not from his home galaxy. They got off to a rough start, when Ezra called for a town meeting, and Kyle expressed concerns about groups from various times and places being big enough (including the one from a GFFA) to pressure the rest of the town into falling in line. Ezra took some offense, but reached out again to talk more later. Over time they came to realize they are both people who can have sharp tempers, but were also determined to have some lively conversations, stick together, and call each other on their bullshit.
Character Personality Through Key Moments
(2+) Positive Experiences:
(2+) Negative Experiences:
(Negative) Ezra was essentially orphaned when his parents were arrested for speaking out against the Empire. Ezra was either very proficient already at hiding or no one stepped up to take care of him, or both. Until he was nearly 15, he survived largely on his own, partly through petty thieving and cons. Being a loner, or stealing and lying isn’t how he seems happiest operating, but he can do such things, and do them well, if he has to. Even at the end of his canon, he isn’t above working alongside unrepentant pirates and smugglers.
(Positive) Probably the most important event in Ezra’s life if being found and taken in by the crew of the Ghost aka the Spectres. He’s shown as being initially wary of everyone and cynical. After years of being his own, the Spectres gave him an unconventional but solid and supportive family structure. At one point, Kanan Jarrus, his Jedi master, remarks that he doesn’t really have much more to teach Ezra about the Force, since he himself never completed traditional training. Ezra responses that he thinks he has much more like about life, and being a good person; those are the most important things he has learned from Kanan and the rest of his family.
(Mostly Positive) Another positive experience for Ezra has, with the aid of the Specters, is broadcasting a message to the people of Lothal, similar to the sort that his parents were arrested for. He asks his fellow Lothalians to look at what the Empire has done to their lives and argues that things will not got better unless the people stand up and fight back. He admits there will be sacrifice, but that they can’t let fear win.
The situation on Lothal does not get immediately better – in fact it gets worse for several years. However, the broadcast reached much further than Lothal; other rebels boosted the broadcast, Rebel leaders like Ahsoka Tano and Bail Organa decided to use it as a rallying cry to begin to bring cells together and form a greater force that was named the Rebel Alliance.
(Negative) While he never fully reverts to self-protective self-centeredness after joining the crew of the Ghost, his temper, stubbornness, and protectiveness of others can lead him to mistakes and questionable choices. On Malachor, he seemed to embrace Maul's urging to use negative emotion, as well take Maul’s flattery at face value. The trust he extends leads to Maul blinding Kanan. Then, believing Ahsoka Tano had been killed by Vader, and reeling from his master being blinded, Ezra used his anger to open a Sith holocron and listened to what it had to teach him for months Fortunately, even when Ezra made significant and dangerous mistakes, his adopted family never cast him aside, and he eventually turned away from dabbling in the Dark Side.
(Positive...ish)
From that point on, Ezra does his best to try to live as a Jedi. However, his understanding of what that means is filtered through his the times he lives in. He doesn’t really have hangups that lead to him keeping people at a distance – he explicitly calls the Spectres his family on multiple occasions and shows a lot of personal loyalty to them. On the other hand, he is very results oriented.
In the end, he seems to try to strike a balance between his personal feelings, methods, and ends. He is not a pacifist, but will try less than lethal methods if he sees the option. He loves individuals, and will go to great lengths to help them. However, through Force weirdness he is presented, within days of each other, with two major choices that show he is not willing to go any length to save someone. He is young and can’t always see the greater good or the long view, but he does try to keep them in mind.
First, he is given a chance to try to save his recently deceased Jedi Master. However, when it is pointed out to him Kanan laid down his life to save the rest of their family and to further their mission to liberate Lothal, Ezra lets the moment pass, and accepts that he has to let his teacher and father figure go. Secondly, the Emperor presents Ezra with the chance to alter time so that he has a life with his long lost birth parents. What, exactly, the Emperor hopes to gain from this temptation is unclear, but Ezra realizing he can’t trust the source of this dream come true or the potential consequences, promises his parents that he loves them and they will always be a part of him, but makes the difficult choice to reject the Emperor’s promises.
Deer Country Attributes
• Canon Powers:
Ezra is a Force sensitive trained as a Jedi. His abilities include:
Empathy/Telepathy - Ezra's strongest talents as a Jedi are his ability to detect, connect with, and influence minds, both humanoid and animal. He's connected with a wide variety of animals, from small cats, to ray like flying creatures, to huge whale-like space voyagers. With people that he knows well, while concentrating, he's been able to detect their location down to a level on a ship or in a building from many miles away. He's proficient with the Jedi Mind Trick and while he was dabbling with the Dark Side he was able to outright control an enemy soldier, from a significant distance away, into shooting their own squadmates and walking their vehicle over a cliff.
Visions/Clairvoyance - Ezra has a numbers of visions across his canon, of events of the near future or taking place far away. They can be detailed, or give some indication of a variety of potential path/outcomes, but they are rarely straightforward. He is accepting of this dubious gift, but aware he has to use anything he sees this way with caution.
Telekinesis - Like most Jedi, Ezra can use his connection to the Force to move objects with touching them. It generally needs to be something he can see, or sense very well with the Force. The upper limit of his ability is vague but he can pretty reliably move people or large rocks. Fine control that might lend itself to say, starting a fire, is not something he's been taught.
Lightsaber training/swordsmanship - Ezra has training wielding a lightsaber . . However, he is not the strongest duelist. He actually seems to be better at blaster fire deflection.
Enhanced physical attributes - While he is able to channel the Force, Ezra can boost his strength, speed, agility, and endurance well beyond human norm. Thus, he can handle most ordinary soldiers fairly easily. However, his record going toe to toe with other trained Force sensitives is not good, and presumably this would apply to combatants with magic or other powers. Getting clever tactically is a better option for him.
• Blood Type: Palebood
• Omen: A white loth-cat
• Blessed Day: February 9 (corresponds to the air date of “Call to Action” 1x13 in which Ezra broadcasts a speech urging the people of Lothal to stand up together against the Empire)
• Patron Pthumerian: Doorway
• Blood Power Manifestation: Paleblood fits Ezra’s canon power set well, and he’s already thematically strongly associated with the moonlight of his homeworld. Thorough gameplay, he could pick up dream walking, and in general do more with telepathy and visions that don’t fit demonstrated canon on the Force perfectly. Perhaps his more physical abilities like telekenesis could be less reliable, especially in daylight.

THREAD-JACKING: If it's logical, sure!
FOURTH WALLING / CANON PUNCTURE: No, thank you.
BACKTAGGING: Always!
AVOIDED TOPICS: In text form, no real hard 'no's that I can think of; always feel free to reach out and ask
PREFERRED GENDER PRONOUN: she/her
IC CHARACTERISTICS
CURRENT CANON POINT: Pretty immediately post season 4 finale/canon
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: About 5'6'', and while he's strong for his size, he's very slim and a little gangly. His skin tone would probably read as middle eastern to someone from Earth and he has short cut black hair. His eyes are a violet blue, and between that the blue tint to his hair when it's longer, that may hint as not entirely human ancestry somewhere, but it never comes up in canon! He tends to dress in bright colors, mostly orange, yellow, and green. Also notable is the set of parallel scars high on his left cheek. They come from the glancing blow of an Inquistor's doublesided lighsaber, but could easily be mistaken for claw marks.
ETA: Since the event on Coruscant, Ezra has built a new lightsaber which he almost always has with him. He occasionally wears full Jedi robes, but more commonly wear a light brown cloak in Jedi style over brighter work clothing.
DEMEANOR: Among other people, he usually makes and effort to come off cheerful and outgoing, and this is mostly accurate. He likes most people and even animals. However, he's almost always fine with being his own company as well. One on one with someone, he can flip to very quiet and introspective.
ABILITIES:
Ezra is a Force-sensitive, with some Jedi training. In theory, he could display any of the abilities that a Jedi has in canon, particularly with additional training or other precipitating events that give him insight. In his own canon, he's displayed Force enhanced speed and agility, and telekinesis strong enough to pick up a person or a fairly large rock.
He seems particularly skilled in empathy - detecting, connecting with, and influencing minds, both humanoid and animal. He's connected with a wide variety of animals, from small cats, to ray like flying creatures, to huge whale-like space voyagers. With people that he knows well, while concentrating, he's been able to detect their location down to a level on a ship or in a building from many miles away. While it took him a few tries to get the hang of the Jedi Mind Trick, he's now proficient with it. Notably, while he was dabbling with the Dark Side he was able to outright control an enemy soldier, from a significant distance away, into shooting their own squadmates and walking their vehicle over a cliff.
He's also particularly prone to vivid visions of the near future, although they can be very difficult to interpret. (Mods, def feel free to use this as you will.)
He has not shown any obvious ability to heal with the Force, yet.
Like most Jedi, he has training to use a lightsaber and has used them in real combat for several years. However, his own master was never fully trained in all the classic forms for lightsabers and it shows. Ezra can be creative and/or brutal depending on circumstances, but without some other clever advantage he is likely to be outclassed by anyone better trained. Two years into his training, Vader disarmed him in seconds.
He is also a competent, albeit not brilliant, pilot of small ships and fighters from his native galaxy, a decent gunner, and a pretty good shot with a variety of blasters.
ETA: On Coruscant, he picked up the basics of healing, and can speed some things along. He does not have the raw power or skill to do much with major injury beyond stabilize. He also continues to train in a variety of skills, including lightsaber technique, with his fellow Jedi.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: On arrival, he's sustained a blaster bolt from an pistol to the shoulder. It doesn't appear to be life-threatening, but treatment of some kind is advisable.
OFFENSIVE SUBJECTS: Ezra said not just fuck the Empire, but fuck genocide, imperialism, and appropriation. Feel free to poke those buttons, but he spent all of his canon fighting space fascists, and isn't going to stop now.
OTHER: On arrival he does not have a lightsaber. He deliberately left it on Lothal when he surrendered to Admiral Thrawn.
IC PERMISSIONS
MENTAL: Ezra is very empathic, so feel free to connect/communicate/give him impressions to react to. He may be particularly prone to influence by flooding him with thoughts and feelings. I think however, direct application of control would be difficult to force on him. If you want to try, let's discuss.
MIMICRY: Given his verbal mimicry in canon, turnabout is fair play, really.
VIOLENCE: Ezra will generally defend himself, although he may try to simply disarm or deescalate if there's an opportunity. He's been part of a rebel insurgency for 4 years, against trained soldiers, and his strength, speed, and agility can be Force enhanced. So despite his small size, against baseline humans, he's got a good chance to come out on top. Against other Force-users or super beings, his odds are much worse. His training as a Jedi is scattershot, and combat is not actually his strongest suit.
MAGIC: I would think magic could affect him, for the most part. Magic that works on perception and will, he may be able to counteract somewhat with his connection to the Force.
DEBATE: Go for it. He's a teenager with a stubborn streak though, so he might just storm off.
OTHER / NOTES: That note to the Mods on using his visions goes for other people who want to move plot along too! We should discuss OOC, but I'm game for making use of them.

Series name: Star Wars: Rebels
Canon notes: Post Season finale/post-canon
Species: Human
Age: 18 (ish? The exact date of season 4's end is unclear, but let's go with 18)
Arrival Condition: In the finale, Ezra sustained a clearly non-fatal but painful blaster bolt to his left shoulder.
History: wiki
Personality: Ezra is a teenager who has suffered some hard losses in his life, grown up a lot over the course of his canon and potentially has a lot left to learn.
His early childhood seems to have been very happy, as an only child to his strongly moral parents, who appear to have been well liked in their community on Lothal. His parents started doing broadcasts speaking out against abuses under Imperial rule and were arrested when he was 7. Ezra ended up alone, and survived as small-time thief, pickpocket, and conman - abandoning his parents' community based outlook for focusing on looking out himself.
When he met Kanan, Hera, and the rest of the Ghost crew that changed. Seeing how they went out of their way to help people in need, and taking Kanan's lessons from the perspective of the Jedi to heart, he re-embraced the morals that his parents taught him as a small child. When the Ghost crew decided to send out a message on the Imperial comm network to rally Lothal against the Empire, he's the one who gives the speech.
While he never fully reverts to self-protective self-centeredness after joining the crew of the Ghost, his temper, stubbornness, and protectiveness of others can lead him to mistakes and questionable choices. The adults in his life have, on a number of occasions, held him back, whether by verbal instruction, or a hand on a shoulder, from throwing himself into a fight that might be ill-advised. The starkest example of his bad choices - believing Ahsoka Tano had been killed by Vader, and reeling from his master being blinded, Ezra used his anger to open a Sith holocron and listened to what it had to teach him for months before he turned away from dabbling in the Dark Side.
After this turning point, while still a fighter and sometimes angry, Ezra begins to grow into a calmer, more mindful nature. He goes from expressing admiration for Saw Gerrara for getting results while fighting the Empire, to understanding that Saw does not really care about casualties or other collateral damage as long as the Empire is damaged. When his teacher Kanan is killed by the Imperial governor of Lothal, Ezra is devastated, and determined not let Kanan's sacrifice go to waste, but neither does he seem bent on vindictive revenge. Neither is he so desperate to get Kanan back, that when he has a chance to reach through time to try to prevent Kanan's death, that he doesn't listen when Ahsoka tells him that saving Kanan would have terrible consequences. Similarly, when the Emperor tries to tempt Ezra by showing him the possibility of his parents being restored to life, Ezra is able to refuse.
Despite his years on the streets and then fighting against the Empire, Ezra can come off as strangely naive. When he meets the former Sith, Maul, on Malachor, he seems to take Maul's word at face value and the trust he extends leads to Maul blinding Kanan. Less disastrously, he keeps reaching out to Hondo Ohnaka and relying on information from the pirate, despite skepticism from the older members of Ezra's adopted family. But over time his interactions with Hondo reveal something important - Ezra isn't blind to how much of a liar and cheat Hondo can be. He just holds out hope for Hondo's better nature, which may be why Hondo (seemingly sincerely) eventually he says there's nothing he wouldn't do for Ezra. Along similar lines, Ezra himself is capable of coming up with aliases, diversions, hiding what he's really thinking and feeling, and even functioning undercover, but he prefers to be open and empathetic. While he is not a smooth talker, at his best his charisma and humor shines. All these traits together make him someone who can connect to other people, and even bring groups together.
By the end of canon, Ezra has learned to see the Force truly as something binds and connects everything rather than a weapon against his enemies. He's able to be loyal and love deeply, but also able to accept sacrifice. How much he has truly processed of loosing his teacher and being separated from his home world and adopted family however, is an open question.

Personal Item: None? Part of his daily wear is a wrist comm, but it wouldn't connect to anything. He deliberately left his lightsaber behind with his family at his canon end point. Maybe he can acquire or build one later?
