"The Trade Federation attack." Bail recalls some of that although it had been over a decade ago and Naboo, while a name known, had not meant too much to him then. Now is a different matter due to his dealings with Amidala. "I do not see why I would be actively seeking them out so I will continue to give them a wide berth."
"Trade Federation," Ezra echoes, racking his brains for that to ring any bells. Then he shrugs.
"Yeah, my understanding of all that history and politics still has huge holes, clearly. Well, for better for or for worse, Trench is loosely organized. Conflict is mostly on the interpersonal level, or against the dangers of the environment. There's just....a lot more people with, um, magic? Super powers? Whatever you want to call it."
"They're an interstellar shipping and trade conglomerate, that invaded the planet of Naboo at one point." He pauses for a moment. "Before the war came."
Since then, there have been plenty of wars, invasions and battles. More to come still no doubt with the rise of an Empire. "Ah. Palpatine. He would likely have something to do with that."
Erase and re-write. After a point, the general population would believe the story. "Akin to those of the Jedi?"
"Imperial propaganda," Ezra agrees, and then admits, sheepishly. "And...I don't have a lot of formal schooling. Outer rim orphan. Good for missing a lot of that indoctrination - a lot to catch up on when I've had people around I could rely on, to teach me or point me to sources."
On to the actual question. "There's a lot that's akin to Jedi abilities, definitely. Wandering into people's dreams is something I didn't do before I got here. But otherwise my empathic abilities seem to work like they always have. It's just...some people suddenly find they have them, when they get here. Or telekinesis. Or they can manipulate heat, or cold, or electricity. Or their blood is poisonous-"
He shakes his head. "It varies, but there's general, hmm, categories and subsets depending on how our blood has changed."
"There's much that school does not teach." Life is an experience. Books and school can teach some things, but there are other lessons that only living can show. They aren't always easy lessons or lessons that someone wants to learn, but they are there. It is good to find those those of like mind, those who share the same values and beliefs. It seems he has that though which is a good thing.
"It is a rather odd experience, is it not?" He looks back down the way that he had come. Nothing really seems to change. There seem to be many firsts that Bail is experiencing here.
"This whole place is regularly odd and new experiences," Ezra confesses, with a sigh. And that's coming from a Jedi.
"Would you like me to walk with you, or do you want me to try to leave the dream? I can't remotely predict what we might come across before you wake up."
"I would not keep you if you had elsewhere to try to be." Then again, the latter part of his statement does make Bail pause. So far it has not actually been anything bothersome. Unsettling, yes, but not hostile. Would such things be out there? Does one have to will oneself awake or does it just happen on its own accord at some point?
"I managed to leave someone's dream when they asked me to go, once. But then, she's Paleblood too, so I don't know how that factors in. This is still new enough I'm working out how it goes," Ezra admits.
Still, he shifts to face the path and starts walking.
"Interesting. Although it is unlike dreams that I am used to anyway." He tends not to be that aware. Not so interactive anyway. He wonders if he can read and count numbers... "Was it the same scenario as this?"
A gesture to that road ahead of them, looming onward.
"... did she choose the memory or was it random?" Bail would not assume someone would willingly share something like that. If it drew from what was close at hand... His own might show the Temple.
“No. I would still have you choose as you would.” As Bail glances to him. “But I would not deny there would be some benefit on my part if you remained. Assuming things are not straightforward.”
